The Japanese apricot, which has been the messenger of spring's coming since ancient times, was an early favorite for creating bonsai, which we can see from picture scrolls from the Muromachi period（1336 to 1573）which depict them in. This bonsai, with bark that leaves the impression of the many years of its life, blooms with white flowers. This bonsai gets its dignified shape from how its main train trunk twists to form a large curve while its smaller trunk bends around it in accord.
