This large piece presents five trunks rising with branches thick with rich leaves spreading out and a spectacular rock-like root base, all of which come together to drop a clear swathe of shade onto this Japanese maple. Because of the dignity and high air of grace this bonsai has, it was titled Kōga, meaning "elegance".
