This piece is of a Japanese beautyberry that has been planted with other young trees to create the image of a grove swaying in the breeze. Its name originates from the Heian-period (794 AD-1184 AD) poet Murasaki Shikibu. In early summer, it blooms with clusters of pale purple flowers, and in autumn, it bears beautiful, bright purple fruit. It is a highly popular ornamental tree species.
